Nancy Cartwright, most famously known as the voice of Bart Simpson, is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She comes back every now and again to visit family and to raise money for a scholarship program at the high school she attended.
There is a great story from her intern days at WING-AM. One day while chatting with a DJ, named Bill Kirby, she expressed a great desire to perform character voices for animation. As the story goes, Bill said to the young teenager to give up the idea, cause the chances of making it were so slim. She soon moved out to LA and the rest is history. This picture was taken backstage at an appearence of her's where just a few minutes before Bill ate crow and apologized. It was a pretty funny moment. |

Well, there really isn't much more to the story. We had a few brief words, took the picture and then she jumped on a Zamboni and circled a hockey rink waving to the crowd.

And she's a great illustration of why you should not listen to someone who advises you to pack it in!! |
