Hmm. Maybe Pat would tell you how he does that. Do you need his phone number or email address? |

Auggh-- my head a splode.
And Mary-- I'm going to give you a bone-crushing squeeze next time I see you.
Pat's method is a laborious one-- a few at a time or even one at a time to get the name in the subject line and in the greeting.
We're looking for something less confiscatory in the chronometry department. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Ya know - I just downloaded and installed GroupMail5 (see link in previous post - and, thanks, Don!). I HAVE already discovered that you can send newletters in HTML format and you may use your own template.
I'm still perusing the Help file to discover other things it may do, such as personalizing each e-mail/newletter that it sends out, etc.
I will update my findings unless someone else already knows the answers to these??
Very cool, so far... and very FREE! (my fave 4-letter word) |

Here's the update on GroupMail5...
Played with it for about 3 hours this morning and find it does whatever I want it to do concerning newsletters. Will even personalize each e-mail you send if that's what you want.
This is strictly software... no cgi's, PERL scripts, etc. about which to worry. It has a fairly intuitive GUI and the Help files seem to be written for non-techies.
Also, your contact lists can be imported to this client in several different formats (i.e., Outlook, Outlook Express, CSV, text, etc.).
While they have a pay version which removes the few limitations in the free edition, unless your mailing list is huge, this free client should work. Even if your list is huge and you prefer the free version, it should serve your needs. Main limitation: you can only que 100 e-mail addresses at a time, which means for those with thousands on the contact list, you'll have to develop several mailing groups, but it can be done.
BTW - this isn't just newsletter software... it's also a mass mailing client.
I have a mockup newsletter which I would be more than happy to provide to anyone who would care to see. Please PM me with your request and e-mail addy and I'll be happy to send it along.
Whew! |
