As soon as the cats wake up from their naps cuddled around the mac and mic, I'll post a pic. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

Working mostly from my Kindles (b/w & Fire HD). Recently kicked out my killer glass fiber insulation and have all denim. Studio-within-studio built out of steel tank packaging (a friend owns the factory), then mostly good 'ol moving blankets. Where would we be without them? _________________ Ulf Bjorklund

And I see the Presonus BlueTube in Ulf's studio, too, and would those be Bose 301 monitors? _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Very good! Yes, picked 'em at Goodwill for $10 and nice guy Dan Nachtrab pointed me to a Craigslist ad for the Presonus and the C1 for a reasonable price. _________________ Ulf Bjorklund

The C1 works well for Ulf - does not work at all for me. I've got an AT 2035 - better than the C1 for me, but still not great. |

This is inspiring me to make real panels so the place at least looks professional. Of course, all the professionalism will be thrown out the window when I use Batman print fabric to cover them. _________________ Jeff

Au contraire, Jeff. The eccentricity of it will make them want to pay twice as much. _________________ Ulf Bjorklund

Modded Rode NT1a, DBX 286a, Duet 2 (now using Balance) KRK VXT4s, iMac.
I hate when the "list your gear" threads appear. It makes me want a new mic or two. |

You people with your neat, organized spaces..... there's something wrong with you!

I"m not really sure, Scott, but they're colorful and pretty, so I've just kept them there. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Yep, CD's as art. I remember doing that with a rainbow of colored floppy discs, lo those many years ago.
What the heck am I gonna do with all my remaining blank CDs and DVDs? I cannot tell you the last time I had to burn a disc.

As a present to myself for my upcoming 50th birthday (Yikes!) and after having more than enough of recording in what was literally a small closet, I decided on a complete rebuild for the studio. If this is a symptom of a mid-life crisis, then I'm all for it.
It's been four weeks of noise, gypsum board dust, sticky green glue finding its way everywhere, more gypsum board dust and a stressed family who still don't quite get what I do for a living.
Finished painting and carpeting the flight deck today. Still need to fine tune the acoustics of the booth, treat those bare walls around the speakers and finally, persuade my long suffering wife that it really will pay for itself in the long run.

I'm seeing something in a a lot of these pictures that I am not personally familiar with, although I have heard of them. I believe they are called "visible desktops." I wonder if I'd find one under all this stuff. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
