I got that same email Diane, but deleted it before checking out what was in the copy.
I haven't auditioned for much on the site, but I will give ACX credit for finally giving me the push I needed to start recording audiobooks. Now it seems like that's all I do, and I love the work. The money? Could be better.

I'm sure you and every other female narrator who has ever done a royalty share book for ACX got that email. Same with the direct invitations to audition that are sent out en masse, but are meant to make the narrator feel that the rights holder/author has sent it just to you because they think you'd be perfect for it, when all the while I'm betting they didn't even take the time to listen to our demos. I think ACX has potential, but there's lots of junk on there, much more than when it first started up, and recording junk is a sure way to stall a serious future in audiobooks. _________________ Diane
