To touch on Philip's original point:
When your phone calls have a ratio skewing 1:1+ with the conversation being "Do you want to pay me money" or "We want to give you money!" |

When successful VO peeps think the serious hard news radio work I occasionally do is cool.
Huh?
On a serious note:

Even better when they're my friends.

I consider myself moderately successful because all my pencils are for my own personal use, not for resale on a street corner. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

I'll know I'm successful when I meet the (awesome dood) PB and register complete and utter disappointment upon doing so...
Until then, I plug away in my humble purple padded room... _________________ Happy to be here.

I first experienced that feeling when booking a room in Vegas for my daughter for her 21st birthday and the lady on the other end of the line said...'wow, do I know you, your voice sounds so familiar.' I replied with, well, I do voice for your property, so you may have heard it a time or two.
Now for the successful part... Upon arriving at the resort/casino for her birthday weekend with her mother and two friends in tow, to her surprise, they upgraded the room to a penthouse suite/city view. When Jade asked how this happened, the lady at the counter said... "We love what your dad does for us, and wanted to show you a great time for your birthday."
The phone call after check in was enough to make me feel successful for the rest of my career! |
