Sure, to the producer they would think the 416 is the better mic, but the reality is it does not take that much to set the audio for any mic on top of the mix. And would be better for it.

Producers! What a pesky bunch. They're the ones that think bright sparkly audio is a good idea too, when it fact it is nothing more than a distracting artifact.

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong.
