At the risk of showing green...

After reading Bailey's post, I am asking myself, "What OTHER way would there be to read it?" Maybe "Tex-uhs" where the "uh" = the schwa character that I don't know how to type on a normal keyboard?

"Texas" definitely needs the schwa sound on the 2nd syllable. I managed to insert the merest of stops between the words without killing the flow.

That's going in my warmup file, though.

Well, I'm guessin' that you don't want to pronounce it like I've heard up here in Colorado: Tex-A$$. Wink

(ducking and running, but hey, I have relatives in Texas and they think it's funny...)

After my holiday dietary indulgence, calling me a TexASS voice talent would be accurate.

Had to fumble over some fun phrases today...

"immediately applicable"

"such as spreadsheets"

"lead a negotiation"
