Amy,
Your watercress is very thick and full. Are they real watercress or are they artificial? _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

What the hell I'll tell you about a rather unpleasant experience
with these folks that's still in progress.
I got a casting for a bunch of dealership spots through them
in August -which I cranked out at warp-speed for their client.
Let's just say the rate was well below industry standard but, did it
in the spirit of 'lots more to come' and with hopes of a potential
'retainer' deal perhaps developing out of this down the road.
Well, I've been begging for payment ever since and thus
far have been given every excuse in the book. Received an initial
payment for a few spots and am still awaiting the balance owed
of around a couple grand. The old "you get paid when we get paid"
thing doesn't cut it under the circumstances as far as i'm concerned -
And I don't know if they 'have' been paid by the client or not.
Sorry folks. Not cool _________________ Mikey ... Vox-Versatiliti

Not exactly. In my case, they billed the client just enough to get their 15%...and never bothered with paying ME for the job.

So, the client is using your work without having paid for it. Does the client know this? _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

Carolyn is onto something. Maybe it is time to nicely inform the client that you haven't been paid. _________________ Gregory Best

Good points being made about contacting the client directly.
I had this very situation happen to me earlier this year.
Was hired by a producer in Florida who I had done one or two things for before. Did the job, both the producer and client loved it.
Weeks went by with continuing promises of payment from the producer.
Weeks turned into months and I kept getting the run-around.
I finally called the client directly who was quite upset with the producer and promised he'd straighten things out. He did, and the next day a check was FedEx'd to me from the producer.
Haven't heard from the producer since, but this is one I don't care if I lose. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Well the spots have all been used/run. The agent's paid me essentially
what a 15% commission for the work would be by my calculation...and
nothing more.
Agent says Client has been invoiced for everything. Agent hasn't even
invoiced for half the jobs I did. Client says they haven't paid all of the
invoices they 'have' received from Agent yet. (fun stuff eh? just the kind
of thing you have - um - a good Agent for
It's a classic she-said/he-said/she-said scenario but i'm tending to believe the client
more than the agent at this point and will deal with them direct to get this resolved.
Ironically there's no way the agent deserves a commission in this situation.
And oh, by the way - nowhere does anything stipulate that they 'get' a commission
for jobs booked through this P2P site.
The whole thing is simply so wrong at every level.
My brother the lawyer loves to help with stuff like this (NOT).
We'll get it ironed out.
Happy Holidays!
