The other day, I took a chance and didn't call the client who sent me copy that was too short. After sending him a few takes, he replied with the query: "Is the copy too short? Sounds like you're trying to draw it out, a little sing- songy..." (that 'sing-songy' part made me shudder.) I replied: "Yes! Yes! More copy!" and made some suggestions, which he appreciated. Mercy Bruce, mercy me!
