As some of you know by now, I have been reading (yeah, I know, slow reader) James Earl Jones' auto-bio "Voice and Silences" - it has inspired me to expand into other areas of artistic expression...
Like this.
The rehearsals are 3 to 4 times a week (from 7 to 10PM - a couple of Sundays as well) - we're working to bring this to life by the first week of August. Should be a blast. The past two rehearsals have definitely been fun - and we haven't really even started yet.
If you're in the area, bring the kids. If no kids, bring your inner kid. If not in the area... move here.

EDIT: here's another listing - weird - they both differ on the venue... I'll have to ask at tomorrow evening's rehearsals, what the actual location is. |

Anthony,
Being on the stage, where there's just air between you and your audience, is one of the most nerve-wracking, intense, hectic, surreal, incredible, beautiful, over the top moments you will ever have. It's been 12 years since I was lucky enough to grace a stage, and I still remember how it looked and how it felt. Being in those spotlights is addicting. Being up on that stage allows you to lose yourself in your character (At least it does for me). If I get the chance to do it again in VA, you'd better believe I will.

I'm Bagheera. How'd you know? You're gooooood.
And yeah, Chris, nothing like the stage. I've performed musically on stage, but that's a different, but still exciting, beast.

I know the story.
You're Mister Warmth and Compassion mixed with Hugeness and Strength.
Sounds like Bagheera to me. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

UPDATE: Here's the flyer/postcard with the dates and times. It's a 3-day run, and we've been rehearsing practically every night. If you're in NYC (especially if you have children - 5 yrs and older) then come on by. There are things in it for adults, too.
It's not the regular disney jungle book - it's closer to the original Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling - it's an urban re-interpretation of the story set in an urban playground instead of the Indian jungle. Very interesting work and language.
