I suppose this is the same as changing the spelling, but perhaps you could just mash your first and middle names together and be Perryanne. I once worked with a woman named Terianne and her twin sister's name was Gerianne.

Mine isn't really a pseudonym since Rhys is actually my middle name - courtesy of my Welsh dad.
My actual family name is Potter of all things. I suppose it could be a major branding opportunity with its connection to the boy wizard, but I'm a Brit and we don't generally ride the brandwagon.

Without really giving it much thought, I always used my first and middle names as my "air name" on college radio. Kept it that way all through my radio career, including 19 years at the same station in Miami where, unbelievably, I had the same PD the whole time (except for a stretch in the middle when he spent about a year in another market to save a station there).

Turned out to be a blessing in disguise, since there seemed to be a fairly strong bias against using DJs as voiceover talent in Miami back in the mid-80s, when I was starting my VO career. Made it easy to keep my "radio identity" separate from my "VO identity."

Many times at restaurants when they take my name for a wait list I tell them "Smith", and as they start to write I tell them, "That's P-S-M-Y-T-H-E." I'm not sure why, but more often than not I get dirty look.
