Don't bet on that. I just went to your site in IE8, the most widely used browser out there and couldn't play your demos. _________________ Jeff

Just out of curiosity, I checked the browser stats on my web analytics and found IE8 to be 5th on the list behind Safari, Firefox, and IE6. IE8 barely eeks out Chrome. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Yes, but if IE8 doesn't play it, certainly IE7 and IE6 won't either. And that consumes 51% of the browser share for all internet traffic. _________________ Jeff

Thank goodness for Safari-the best IMHO. At times I have to stand on my head with my shoes on fire to get IE8 to do anything but crash...and Firefox is iffy at times as well, though it is the browser of choice when on PC platform.
Those are cool players you found Jeff...thanks. _________________ jonahcummings |

Ooops.. I should have known that it wouldn't be that simple! It's actually a stop gap measure until the new website is live, but maybe I need to go back and upgrade my wimpy player.

JeffreyKafer wrote: | Melissa, have you actually checked your analytics to see how many of your visitors are using iPod/iPads? If the number is statistically irrelevant, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. |
Averages often hide the truth in website, other analytics. In comparison to the total # of website visitors, the # of people likely to ever take it to the next step and book you is statistically small, but if one of these target prospects happens to be using an iphone or ipad, it behooves you not to limit yourself by the fact i* devices don't support Flash.
Your programmer can check to see whether the person is using an iphone or ipad and serve a different media. |
