Hi All-
I saw this on a listserv and thought that it may be of some interest.
I am not affiliated in anyway with this fellow, so I can neither vouch for nor profit from him. Tony
Beta Testers Wanted for Transcription Software
Are you looking for an easier way to transcribe interviews and other media?
For the past year, we've been working on web-based software to facilitate
the transcription process. Eventually this system will allow people to post
the files they want transcribed and others will bid on that work. At the
moment, though, we're still testing the transcription workflow. We are
looking for beta testers who have media that needs to be transcribed and
someone (e.g. an intern) available to do it.
While in testing, the InScribeOut service is free, as we need the feedback
we need to make the system even better before releasing it.
The benefits of using the system:
* Fast (and therefore less expensive) transcription
* Transcription can be done anywhere someone has an internet connection
* Timing metadata is automatically built-in
* Allows for marking sound-bites
* Easily export the transcription data and sound bites into a variety of
formats, including the Final Cut Pro XML.
If you currently are transcribing as part of your workflow, I promise you
that giving me 30 minutes to demonstrate the InScribeOut system will change
the way you think about transcription. And if you use Final Cut, you'll be
amazed at the easy integration. (And what I'm really hoping for is that
someone who I demonstrate this to will post their comments here. I realize
it's a bold thing to say "You'll be amazed", so I'm hoping someone else will
be enthusiastic enough to say it!)
Questions and suggestions welcomed!
