No, not Oprah...opera.
I'm curious about a pronunciation. I can pick the brains of other sources in a couple of hours, but figured I'd check here as well. I'm trying to confirm the pronunciation of stage director Marciem Bazell.. I couldn't find anything pronunciation-wise via google. And heck, with the mix of folks we have on this forum, someone might actually be a friend of hers.
Anyone? Thanks. |

Don,
Vocal performance (opera) was my major in college, but I haven't kept up all that well in the last 30 years. Sorry, I don't know her or how to say her name. Have you tried calling your local NPR station? Someone there is likely to know. _________________ Be well,

Try Googling her and calling a place or two where she works or is affiliated. They'll likely know.
If you're stuck, Bazell is usually pronounced bah-ZELL or buh-ZELL, and I'd guess Marciem is mar-see-EHM, said with just a dash of French flair.

Thanks, guys.
Bob, I am at my "local NPR station" as I write this. I just knew I wasn't going to be there for a couple of hours when I decided to ask here on the forum. Interestingly enough, no one in the classical department has heard of her. So I did what I was planning on doing and that Bruce also suggested. I called the school where she heads the department. I am told the pronunciation is: mar-SEEM bah-ZELL.
And now we all know. |
