I've noticed many from this board are there with the deal being free sign up and 15% of the bid price for the service held in an account for you.

My e-mail had q93fm.com which is a radio station in Celena, Louisiana. The return e-mail is from fatc.org which is "MySpaceHotties.Biz - Show The World Your Hot Body" which is a site which is for sale for $800 by Voicelancer.com. I'll pass on that as the only way my body would be considered "hot" is if I were to spontaneously combust.

Thank you for your insight into this internet intrigue.

I did cock an eyebrow at the rather peculiar mailing list this fellow used. an interesting melange.

Anything that touts "low prices" for talent isn't going to get much attention from me, I'm afraid.

I've found the quickest route to a "hot" body is to just let someone steal it.

I listed myself on the site, but no hot body here. I missed the connection, but it was late. Anybody have any problems with this outfit?? -- PM me.

I see Voicelancer is now offering something of a “premium” listing at $100/yr to be a "certified VO" with a nifty little tag by your name. I may be certifiable, but I am not paying some unknown from Smallsville LA a fee then getting charged 20% for work I get that is probably small market low ball stuff. I may beg off.

I listed too, THEN saw this thread. I guess I'll hang for awhile and see what happens. Can't hurt to have more free exposure even if there are no jobs Undecided By the way, the site is not Firefox friendly and I did complain about that. The guy advised that he was working on it. I can use IE for a while...just don't like it very much.

Allen, I have been using Firefox too, and like you, I have noticed that some websites are not compatible with Firefox. Someone suggested that I try something called "Crazy Browser". Hmmmm....not bad. I haven't even specified a home page for it - I just leave it set for the blank white page. Why not? All I want it for is access to the internet.

Crazy Browser does use tabs and does store your favorite sites and all that good stuff. Clearing cookies and all that kinda thing is quick and easy.

"Crazy Browser" eh? Can't say I've heard anything about that one, but it sounds cool. I'll Google it and see what it's all about then. Thanks Don!

Even worse, when a client tries to post a VO job for talent, there is a note from the site to keep the gigs above a $30 minimum.

Well...I'm really not all that worried...seeing as how Voicelancer makes their money by taking a 15% cut. I'm pretty sure that the guy isn't dumb. Higherer talent fees = higher commissions.

Bottom line is, I'm not REQUIRED to pay anything to take part. That works for me & you won't catch me complaining. In the furture, I'll probably fork over the cash to be "certified"...especially since they'll let you pay by the month. I'm all about giving this one a shot. As long as the system stays the way it is and a free listing is still useable (V123, I'm looking in your direction)...there's really nothing to lose.

They've even gone to the trouble of setting up a referral program. Here's a link so you can see what I mean: http://www.voicelancer.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?davehines
