I had the pleasure of interviewing Dom when I did my midday radio show in South Florida from the Burt Reynold's Ranch back in 1985-1986. The station entered into an agreement with the BR Ranch and built a satellite studio in Burt's souvenir store in Jupiter, Florida. The signal was relayed back to the home station and out through South Florida over WIRK airwaves (Country station). Anyway, Dom was at the ranch in the dead of summer visiting and the office there called and told me he was dropping in to say hi on the air. Very gracious, funny and down to earth. It was a 90 degree day with dripping humidity and I thought it was very cool that he would take the time to drop by. I fed him the straight lines and he took the ball and ran with it. My listeners loved his antics. Sweet memory. |
