To get this back on track -- Phil, you asked about coaching. I am not as polished in my delivery as some of the more experienced folk here, so, a while back I began working with a coach local to me. She's an experienced VO artist and she's helped me. I've also been taking some basic acting classes to help me learn to be more "in the moment" and alive to the possibilities in each script. You might consider taking some acting classes.
I see you live in rural southern Colorado. Currently I'm in the Boston area, but we are going to be moving back to Colorado sometime this year, so I've been looking for some in the Denver-Boulder area and there are a number of places offering acting courses. For Pagosa Springs, you'd almost need to look in Abq or Santa Fe. Still a bit of a drive for you. Or maybe the folks at the Durango Arts Center could give you some ideas about coaching/classes.
If not, that leaves you with long-distance coaching -- and the folks already recommended to you are good. My own coach does telephone coaching; if you'd like her name drop me a PM and I'll get you connected.
Best wishes to you.
